An Ordinary Day with Jesus

As I have been taking this class at church called "An Ordinary Day with Jesus" I cannot help but think what day isn't ordinary? Follow me if you will. There are 365 days in a year and well there is a morning, afternoon, evening, and a night. During those days the weather could be sunny, cloudy, rainy, snowing, sleeting, and hailing. We all know these things will occur but just don't know which weather condition it will be. The meteorologist doesn't even know. He/She can do predictions of what the weather will be like but only God knows what its going to be like outside. Taking this all into account, as one song I have heard put it, " Yesterday, Today, and Forever you are the same, you never change." "You have no end and no beginning, always loving, always true, always merciful, and good." It really dawned me that each day our moods can swing upward or downward depending on what goes on in that day but Jesus will always remain the same and faithful. Are we truly living faithfully, daily with Him? Or are we a Sunday Christian? God never said alright as long as you obey my commandments on Sunday the rest of the week you can whatever you want. God wants to be a part of every day life, our everything and not just on Sundays. He wants to spend time with us, He wants us to talk to Him, He wants our attention. I admit that this is not easy but here's what I think God desires. If we commit every aspect of our life on a daily basis, we will be transformed and become more like Him. If we do this, Christ will shine through us, and He will entrust us with more things that our heart desires. For if commit the ordinary, we will be able to do the extraordinary for His kingdom. We don't know who is watching us, but may we be mindful of this, and be a living, breathing, disciple for Him.
